The latest released iOS 5.1 Beta firmware has leaked many references to the upcoming Apple in line products. The traces were found for next gen iPhone i.e. iPhone 5, iPad 2,4, iPad 3 and Apple TV 3 traces in the SDK of iOS 5.1 beta. Lets see the finding one by one.
Before the launch of iPhone 4S there were rumors of Apple to launch iPhone 5 this year in September but iPhone 4S launch mislead all those rumors. But the latest report by BI states that Apple iPhone 5 launch was real with actual prototypes but was scrapped few months before iPhone 4S release time.
Though Steve Jobs last project launch was the iPhone 4S but the last project he worked on was the next iPhone i.e. the iPhone 5, according to a research note by Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman & Renshaw.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the new iPhone launching today will not support long-term evolution or WiMAX fourth-generation networks. Instead it will work on the current iPhone 4 3G standard claims people familiar with company plans.
This is HUGE! The WSJ reports that Sprint Nextal has signed an agreement with Apple to purchase 30.5 million units of iPhone 5 (worth $20 billion) over the next four years regardless of whether they are purchased by customers or not. Additionally, Sprint won’t even break even on the transaction until 2014. Is this a major risk by the carrier or a gamble? That’s not all, here is something bigger than this!
The banners for the Apple media event are already up now at Apple Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, California. The event is scheduled on 4th Oct at 10 AM PT at building 4 of the Cupertino home base focused on iPhone 5 launch. The banner displays the same icons with tagline “Let’s talk iPhone” as on the media event’s invitation letters.
AT&T has started stocking the third party silicone cases of next gen iPhone 5 in their retail stores. In proof of, an alleged store employee has managed to send some snaps of the arrived cases. The cases shows iPhone 5 to have tapered design and mute switch is on the right side of the device.
Finally, the Golden words are out! Apple has officially announced the media event to be held on 4th October and the venue is as anticipated Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino at 10 AM PT. Apple has started sending out the invites for the event as reported by The Loop after receiving their letter.
